WCCF Commemorates Black History Month with Grant Opportunity from the African American Community Fund

Eighty Four, PA – The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is pleased to announce the availability of grants from the African American Community Fund in conjunction with Black History Month to promote and support the African American community in Washington County. Grants will normally range from $1,000 to $5,000.

Initiated in 2022, a primary goal of the Fund is to empower community members to think creatively to design or sustain programs and projects for the African American community in these focus areas: cultural heritage, community development, education and enrichment, history and preservation, and entrepreneurship.

Examples of prospective grants include but are not limited to: formalized events that celebrate African American Cultural Heritage; curriculum development; building construction or rehabilitation; historical or genealogical research; supporting dues of professional or service organizations.

Any exempt nonprofit organization providing services in Washington County is eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted here from February 1 through February 29. Contributions to the African American Community Fund can be made here or by contacting the Foundation at 724-222-6330.
