Eighty Four, PA – Over the past 10 years, more than $10 million has been awarded to over 100 Washington County charities through WCCF Gives, a county-wide day of giving hosted annually by the Washington County Community Foundation. This year’s day of giving is scheduled for September 14, and will once again include a bonus pool to encourage contributions. As always, there will be no fee for charities to participate. All 501(c)(3) public charities who annually file the Federal Form 990 and who have a physical presence in Washington County are invited to register. Each charity is required to assign one representative as their official WCCF Gives representative and to have a designated email to receive electronic communications. Additional eligibility requirements are available on www.wccfgives.org. Registration is open through June 1.
Some changes are underway for WCCF Gives 2023, including the registration process, so interested charities are strongly encouraged to have a representative attend a virtual Back to Basics training session on May 2 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Charities may register for the training at www.wccfgives.org. To ensure that all charities are aware of the changes, any charity that is not able to have a representative attend the virtual training session will be required to view the recording of the session to participate in the day of giving.
“The Foundation’s ongoing financial investment in hosting WCCF Gives is very substantial, but we remain committed to the day because of its tremendous success in helping local charities secure unrestricted support for their charitable work,” remarked Betsie Trew, President & CEO. “As we begin our second decade of hosting WCCF Gives, we have adopted a fresh new logo and are in the process of an aesthetic redesign of the WCCF Gives website.”
The Foundation is also preparing for a more dynamic social media campaign this year, so the community is encouraged to follow the Foundation on Facebook and Twitter @WashCoCommFdtn and on LinkedIn. Questions may be directed to the Foundation at 724-222-6330 or info@wccf.net.
