Eighty Four, PA – The Washington County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the election of its officers, effective July 1, 2024.
Michael Anderson was elected as Chairman. Anderson, a Certified Public Accountant, started his career at the accounting firm of Houston & Associates while attending Washington & Jefferson College. After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, he joined the accounting firm full time, learning the technical side of business and individual taxation while working on audits of nonprofit organizations, yellow book, and employee benefit plans. Anderson continued working at Houston & Associates for 14 years, during which he served as an Auditor for the Washington County Community Foundation. In 2017, Anderson and a partner opened Imperial Tax South Hills, which Anderson manages. He focuses his practice on comprehensive tax planning for individuals and businesses, preparing individual, corporate, nonprofit and small business returns. He also specializes in accounting system software implementation and consulting with small business owners who are looking to start up or grow their existing companies. Anderson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Quickbooks Certified Pro Advisor. He previously served as Treasurer for the former Washington County Health Partners, and previously served as Treasurer and Vice Chairman for the WCCF. Anderson also serves as a coordinator for Aspect Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides students from around the world the opportunity to participate in an educational and cultural exchange program in the United States.
Dr. Geraldine Jones was elected as Vice Chairman. She is the former President of California University of Pennsylvania, now known as PennWest. She earned both her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from California State College and taught second grade in the Albert Gallatin School District, before returning to her college alma mater to serve as Program Director for Upward Bound. She held various positions at the University including Dean of the College of Education and Human Services, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, acting President, and then President. In 2010 Jones was one of 50 “Women of Excellence” honored by the New Pittsburgh Courier, one of the oldest and most prestigious black newspapers in the US. She received the WCCF’s Louis E. Waller Humanitarian Award and the NAACP Human Rights Award. Dr. Jones currently serves as chairperson of the LeMoyne Community Center board.
Barbara Graham was elected as Secretary. She recently retired as a senior member of Peacock Keller’s School Law Group and a member of its Employment Law Group. Graham performed both her undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. A member of the Pennsylvania and Washington County Bar Associations, Graham was also an active member of the Pennsylvania School Board Solicitors Association and served as its President in 1996. She received the President’s Award for Distinguished Career Achievement from the Solicitor’s Association, in recognition for her longstanding service and commitment to the organization as well as fellow solicitors.
Todd James was elected as Treasurer. He has been EQT’s Chief Accounting Officer since November 2019. Previously, James was the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of L.B. Foster Company. Prior to that he was Senior Director, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting at Rice Energy through its acquisition by EQT. Prior to joining Rice Energy, James was Senior Manager, Assurance at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Accountancy, a Master’s Certificate, Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from West Virginia University.
