Now through June 16, the Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is presenting members of the community with the unique opportunity to become a philanthropist via the “Hearts of Gold” contest on its Heart of Giving Charity Storybook website (http://storybook.wccf.net).

Twenty-nine local first responder organizations recently received grants totaling $126,846 via the Range Resources Good Neighbors Fund at the Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF). The grants will help to purchase a variety of items including: breathing apparatus replacements, turnout gear, ballistic shields, thermal imaging cameras, video surveillance cameras, and rescue equipment

The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is pleased to announce that Martha Y. Berman has been named the posthumous recipient of this year’s Richard L. White Excellence Award for Board Service. Created by the WCCF Board of Trustees in 2012, the award recognizes an individual who serves as an exemplary member of the Board, wholeheartedly sharing his or her time, talent, and treasures to support the Foundation and its mission.

The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is pleased to announce that it has selected Dr. Trisha Craig to receive its annual Dr. Howard Jack Outstanding Public Educator Award. The award recognizes a local public educator who has displayed the ability to inspire children from all backgrounds and abilities, who has earned the respect of colleagues, students and parents, and who is actively engaged in the community.

The Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) is pleased to announce that it has selected Robert C. Griffin to receive its annual Louis E. Waller Humanitarian Award. The award recognizes a local individual or organization devoted to the promotion of human welfare or the advancement of social reform as evidenced by humanitarian deeds in the community, whether local, national, or international.

The WCCF is pleased to announce the creation of a special capacity-building grants program from its Community CARE Fund (CCF) to support small, independent, community-based libraries in Washington County. Up to $150,000 will be issued in CCF grants to small libraries during this cycle.
