In the ten years that the Washington County Community Foundation has sponsored its annual day of giving, WCCF Gives, more than $8 million has been raised to support charities in Washington County. For many charities, WCCF Gives has become their primary activity to secure annual operating support.

The EQT Foundation has donated $50,000 to the Washington County Community Foundation’sClose to Home Disaster and Emergency Fund, which is currently supporting local non-profit organizations at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The WCCF is encouraging local human service organizations to participate in an email forum that is focused on how circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus are impacting the services they provide.

The WCCF announced today that a total of $30,000 in grants has been awarded from the Close to Home Disaster and Emergency Fund. The fund was created earlier this week to provide grants to human service organizations serving Washington County, Pennsylvania, in response to local disasters and emergencies.

The Washington County Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for its more than 40 post-secondary scholarships. Each scholarship is unique, according to its donor’s wishes. The scholarships target students graduating from specific high schools, pursuing specific areas of study, and demonstrating financial need.
