Eighty Four, PA – The Washington County Community Foundation is currently seeking applications from local nonprofits for internship grants. These grants will allow nonprofits to provide a monetary stipend to student interns who: are performing services for the non-profit; are currently enrolled in an accredited course of post‐secondary educational study; and who qualify as an intern under the applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Internship programs offer an array of opportunity for students to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application while the host organization gains additional help that may increase efficiency and serve as a talent pipeline for future full-time positions.
“We are committed to discovering innovative methods to assist local nonprofits, while also supporting local students to pursue their educational endeavors," stated Betsie Trew, President and CEO of WCCF. "Internship grants enable us to achieve both these objectives.”
A total of $5,000 will be awarded this year. Nonprofit organizations who would like to be considered for an internship grant in 2024 should apply by May 1. Questions should be directed to the Foundation at 724-222-6330 or allocations@wccf.net.
