Community Foundation Accepting Applications for Capacity-Building Grants

Eighty Four, PA - The Washington County Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for its second and final cycle of capacity-building grants for 2024. An estimated $250,000 will be awarded in this cycle and grants will normally range from $5,000 to $50,000.

Capacity-building is defined as any activity that increases the non-profit’s operational, programmatic, financial, or organizational maturity. However, accounting and financial system improvements including accounting software and audits, communications enhancements including websites with content management systems, as well as data management improvements including constituent/donor management software, are priority funding areas.

Nonprofit organizations who would like to be considered for a capacity-building grant should contact the Foundation at 724-222-6330 before September 15 to discuss their project.

“Through our capacity-building grants program we seek to support transformational projects for local nonprofits,” said Betsie Trew, WCCF President & CEO. "For a small organization, a new website could be transformational. For a larger organization, a building expansion could be transformational. Each application is considered on its own merits and ability to take the organization to its next level.”

Cumulatively, the Foundation has distributed more than $5.3 million in capacity-building grants since the program was initiated in late 2017. Questions may be directed to the Foundation at 724-222-6330 or allocations@wccf.net.
