The Washington County Gay Straight Alliance Scholarship Fund was created in 2017 to provide scholarships to students who have advocated for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Questioning, Queer, Asexual, and Allied (LGBTQA+) community.
Eligible applicants are graduating seniors from any Washington County High School, nontraditional seniors living in Washington County, and Washington County young adults up through age 21 who have completed high school requirements.
To enable students of diverse backgrounds, interests and career goals to benefit, scholarships are made available to students pursuing any course of study at any accredited post‐secondary educational institution.
Each recipient is awarded a scholarship of no less than $1,000 and is eligible to receive an annual scholarship for up to three subsequent years, provided he or she remains enrolled in the post-secondary institution and maintains good academic standing.
