The Malcolm L. Morgan Community Fund, a field of interest fund, will provide support for historic education and preservation projects in Washington County.
When Malcolm Morgan assumed the position as the first Executive Director of the Washington County Council on Economic Development in 1989, he brought with him many years of economic development and business expertise.
Max had served as Chairman of the Washington County Board of Commissioners and was also the Treasurer of Washington County. He was Vice-President for Financial Capital of America, President of Pine Grove Development Company, was self-employed as a residential developer and had owned Holiday Construction Company.
While serving his country in the United States Corps of Engineers, Max achieved the rank of Captain. He attended Engineers Candidate School in VA and studied business administration at the University of Pittsburgh. Max served on the boards of the National Road Heritage Park, Nonprofit Housing Corporation of Washington County, United Way of Washington County, and the Washington County Historical Society.
The Malcolm L. Morgan Community Fund was initiated by the WCCED Board of Directors as a retirement gift to him.
