Linda LeFever was an exceptionally motivated woman who was very active in the communities in which she lived, particularly in community and economic development. After a battle with lung cancer, Linda died peacefully at home in September of 2006, leaving behind her beloved husband Steven Wertheim and children, Joshua and Jessica.
In her memory, the Linda LeFever Scholarship Fund provides educational scholarship to worthy students attending the Heinz School of Carnegie Mellon University. Eligible students will be from Allegheny or Washington counties.
Linda began her educational journey at the State University of New York at Oswego, where she received her Bachelors. After obtaining a Masters in Business from Carnegie Mellon University, Linda started working in community development as a Vista worker in Rochester, New York. She started a tool lending library and yard maintenance company while involved with Group 14621.
