Mission
To encourage and promote the development and support of the highest quality programs and experiences which enrich, enhance, and expand the educational opportunities provided by the California Area School District, and/or to the students of the district, but not to substitute or replace funding for existing programs.
Programs and Services
- The California Area School District Foundation (CASDF) is a source of opportunity for students and staff within the district which includes the communities of Allenport, California, Coal Center, Daisytown, Elco, Long Branch, and Roscoe, Pennsylvania. Committed to enhancing educational experiences and fostering academic excellence, our foundation serves as the cornerstone for transformative change within the local education landscape.
- Our mission/vision is clear: to enrich the lives of students by providing vital resources and support that go beyond the limitations of traditional funding. Through strategic initiatives and community partnerships, we aim to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. Key programs include:
- Scholarship Programs: We offer a range of scholarships to deserving students, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their pursuit of higher education. Our scholarships encompass various fields of study and cater to diverse interests and talents.
- Innovative Grants: Through our innovative grant programs, we empower educators to implement creative teaching methods into the classroom. These grants fuel innovation in teaching at all levels and inspire a culture of lifelong learning for both student and teacher.
- Enrichment Activities: With support of extracurricular programs and cultural education, we provide enriching opportunities that broaden students' horizons and foster personal growth. Our enrichment activities instill valuable life skills and promote social-emotional development.
- Community Engagement: We actively engage with parents, alumni, local businesses, and other stakeholders to build a strong network of support for our schools. This includes Logo and Essay competitions for student involvement in the 175th our community anniversary for California Borough. By fostering a sense of community pride and ownership, we strengthen the foundation of our educational system.
- Educator Appreciation: CASDF shows support to our teachers, aides and administration through such activities as welcome funding to our new teachers for classroom needs and periodically providing small tokens of appreciation including gift cards and snacks.
- Whether you're a passionate advocate for education or a concerned citizen looking to make a meaningful contribution, your support can help us continue our vital work. Join us in shaping the future of education and empowering the next generation of leaders. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the California Area School District and beyond.
