Programs and Services
- Since our conception, the BACDC had the goal of acquiring the historic commuter train station, which sits along the Panhandle Trail in the business district of the Burgettstown Borough. The train station project was completed in 2016 and is occupied by “Paradise on the Trail" which is a restaurant, ice cream and coffee shop”. It is the last stop for amenities from the McDonald Borough until the trail reaches Weirton, West Virginia. The BACDC also purchased an abandoned building at 1706 Main Street in Burgettstown and have started the construction of the Burgettstown Trail Inn. Once completed the Burgettstown Trail Inn will house a Welcome Center and Hostel for overnight stays for trail users or concert goers.
- The BACDC held a Cash Bash and all of the proceeds benefited the Lemmon Family who lost their house in a fire.
- On December 9, 2023, the BACDC sponsored Christmas on Main which all festivities were free for all the children in the area. We provided hot dogs, popcorn, treat bags, face painting, an ornament making class and a visit from Santa Claus who was brought into town on the Burgettstown Volunteer Fire Company's fire truck.
- For the past 3 years, the BACDC was pleased to offer the Hometown Heros Program to the citizens which gave them the opportunity to purchase a banner to honor those who have served our country or who are serving our country in the armed forces. These symbols of honor and respect features a photo of the honored veteran as well as a desired text. The HTH Program has grown so much within these last three years that now the veteran's banners are not only displayed in the Burgettstown Borough but also in Smith Township along Rt 18.
